Snore Shield Reviews (2024): Best Anti-Snoring Device?

I have used these appliances for a number of years & it stops my snoring most of the time. They take some getting used to but are more comfortable than any other type that I have tried. They last for several years then need replacement to be effective. I have an average size mouth and the small size is more comfortable for me.

I have tried most of the off brand mouthpieces, they are either too hard, poorly shaped or poorly sized. This one is comfortable, easy to get used to and works very well. I don’t like to spend more than necessary, but this one is worth the price. I use it with a nose strip and find it well worth the price. Plus they last a LONG time!

It does work – I can’t say I love it, so I’ll give it 4 stars, but that is just because there is an adjustment period of several nights and it does seem strange, at first. However, after a week, I am able to sleep with it just fine. My husband says it looks ridiculous and he’s not wrong. I will say though, I just went on vacation and there was 3 of us in 1 room. I did not disturb anyone’s sleep. Normally, it would have been a nightmare for them and a lot of complaining about my snoring in the morning. The fact they said I didn’t snore and everyone (including me) slept well, I would say it’s a WIN. I would recommend trying it for sure!

This simple appliance is more comfortable and more effective than the two other custom made oral appliances I purchased from the Dentist for over $6000 dollars. My sleep apnea occurs because my tongue falls back into my throat while sleeping. The dental oral appliances pulls the chin forward to prevent the tongue from falling back. They work fine but cause pain to the jaw and move your teeth by pushing them back. I had to get braces to correct my teeth misalignment after using my first oral appliance. Then I had to purchase a very expensive oral appliance that could accommodate wearing braces. The second oral appliance was even larger and more uncomfortable. The SnoreShield is comfortable, fits nicely over my braces aligner retainer, and prevents my tongue from falling back, allowing me to breathe and sleep. I first bought the adult size that was a bit too large and irritated my gums a bit, but then I purchased this smaller Teen/Youth/small adult size and it is perfect! I highly recommend this product. It works well and is a great price. I wish I would have found this sooner. I could have saved thousands of dollars.

Not everyone benefits from this type of device or can wear it. It works for me helping to hold my tongue gently forward. I cannot wear other devices as they mess up my bite

I was desperate to avoid a CPAP machine, and between this and a nasal dilator, I can breathe all night and don’t wake up gasping for air or with headaches anymore. I snore lightly occasionally, but it’s nothing like before.A few things I see in complaints that I believe I can address…1. If it doesn’t stay on, read the directions more carefully. You can also reach out to the company for tips. There’s a certain way to get the tip of your tongue to stay in there, and there’s a certain way to get it out.2. If you don’t clean it properly, bacteria can grow. Bacteria can cause gum recession, so good oral hygiene is vital if you’re gonna use this. Follow the directions and clean it regularly. I use denture cleaning tablets and a container designed for cleaning oral appliances.3. Your body is sensitive to pain, even in your sleep, so you aren’t going to really bite your tongue–even though you can feel your teeth above and below your tongue, and that sharpness to go to sleep with… It’s a little scary. I actually have TMJ, and though I still have some tension in my jaw at night, I no longer clench my jaw in my sleep.4. The price is not for the material it’s made of. The price is for the design, which WORKS. Sure, it’s a small piece of… whatever material this is. But not just any little piece of plastic can keep a person from snoring or clenching their teeth together all night. This thing can, and that makes it worth trying!-> If it doesn’t work for you, contact the company ASAP to discuss your options. It seems like a lot of people here have been able to get a refund from the company by just calling them and talking with them and probably sending the thing back.

I’ve been using this product for a little over 2 months. I just ordered a second one for my travel bag. I used to wear a night guard to keep me from grinding my teeth but I no longer need it if I use the snore solution. It keeps my mouth closed and moist and helps me breathe thru my nose. I used to wake up several times during the nite to drink water which is not necessary when wearing the snore solution. I sleep alone except that sometimes when traveling I share a room with friends or siblings and this has made a big difference for anyone sharing a room or bed. I don’t keep my tongue in the space provided as it stays behind my closed teeth but that being said I’m sleeping much better and don’t want to be without it. It has fallen out a few times in the middle of the night and I’ve had to search the bed and floor for it, so I attached a hat clip used for fisherman to keep their hats from blowing off – so if it does fall out I’ve attached it to my PJs and don’t have to get up and search for it. I don’t know if others have experienced it falling out but it made me think of a baby’s binky that is often attached so it doesn’t fall on the floor. I definitely recommend this product. I am an adult female and had to get the young adult version as the adult version was too big for my mouth. I’m 5’7 and 125 lbs. and don’t have an unusually small mouth.

So if you’re reading this you are most likely desperate like I was to find a snoring solution that worked. I had been banished to a “snore room” at 47! Missing my husband I tried all sorts of products. None worked, very expensive and super uncomfortable.I do not have sleep apnea just snore.This one is pricey for what it is AND it works!! My family all laughed at me wearing a toddler pacifier to bed 😂 I also drooled quite a bit.Then it was magical. Device was good quality and comfortable once I got used to it. I’ve been using a cpap machine for several years and tried this device for a month. Unfortunately it didn’t lessen my waking up periods. Sleep doctor advised to cease it’s use since it wasn’t working for me. I was refunded immediately, great customer service! Too bad the device wasn’t suited for my type of sleep apnea.

Relative to the other devices that sleep specialists have recommended that I test to alleviate heavy breathing and sometimes snoring that interfere with sleep, the SnoreShield has been the most effective, has had the least physical discomfort and was much lower cost than those alternatives that were almost as effective.As other Amazon reviews indicate, this won’t work for everyone but, if it doesn’t work, it is easy to return for a full refund.Among the dozen or so acquaintances who have tried this mouthpiece, poor condition of gums or teeth probably contributed to the failure of a few but the most common complaint was the appearance of the tongue showing between lips. However, after trying CPAP machines, several of those who complained found success with the SnoreShield.If the alternative is a CPAP and the SnoreShield works for you, then it’s a huge win in my view.Other types of mouthpieces that I have tried have been ineffective and much less comfortable.

Been using this product for a little over three years and haven’t had a single complaint. The person that really appreciates it is my wife, she gets a sound night’s sleep every night. Plenty of knock-offs (made in China) out there for a lesser price but the old adage applies to SnoreShield – you get what you pay for. Strongly recommend it for anyone having a snoring problem.

There are many snore reducing products on the market, most being MADs (mandibular advancement devices) and just a few, like the GSnoreShield, being TSDs (tongue stabilizing devices). I did abundant research on both, and decided to try the SnoreShield, as there was no concern about getting a good fit, having problems with gradual movement of the teeth, and a number of other problems associated with MADs. Now this is a little technical, so, stay with me, and, disclaimer, I am not a doctor, so this is just a lay opinion: I like the brilliance of the SnoreShield in its direct approach to solving the “geometry problem” that causes most snoring. That is, to keep the back of the tongue from falling back in the throat, which blocks the airway and causes most snoring (and the often resulting sleep apnea), why use an MAD — a large mouthpiece that fits both the upper and lower jaw — in order to move the tongue forward by advancing the entire lower jaw, rather than a small device — the SnoreShield — that simply just moves the tongue forward a bit?) The results with the GMSS have been amazing! The snoring is gone! Having started with a snore score (via phone recording app “SnoreLab”) in the range of 35 about 6 weeks ago, my nightly use of the SnoreShield is now producing a weekly average score of 3, and a 1 or 2 on most nights! (If the score is less than 14, snoring is not an issue, and I am well below that. I suspect that, without some extraneous non-snoring sounds that the app picks up at night, my score would be 0 on most nights.) The SnoreShield does take a little getting used to, though in my case there was no real pain or discomfort, nor did I have any issue with drooling whatsoever. But, no surprise, it does take some time to become accustomed to falling asleep while this new object is in the mouth. Of course, now I am back to going off to dreamland in less than 10 minutes, and finally waking up feeling that I had a night of restful sleep.-The best test: My wife no longer hears any snoring!-More good news: The Mpowrx folks, who are the support behind the SnoreShield, are a pleasure to do business with!

I have tried many different types of snoring aides and this one works the best and is the most comfortable. I have used the SnoreShield mouthpiece for ten years. I have replaced it once during that time. It’s the best product for my money.

I have used this product for years. It requires a bit of getting used to and its effectiveness depends on the cause of snoring. Check out their website and other independent information sources such as sleepfoundation.org.Initially I was very skeptical but I was desperate! Turns out this was a good solution for me. It works. It’s simple. It’s FDA approved. It didn’t aggravate my TMJ. It was less expensive than many other appliances.And the best part is I no longer keep the house awake at night.

You have to rely on someone sleeping with you and falling asleep after you to tell you if this works. My daughter did say it worked one night but she was not so sure the next. It is not that comfortable if you are normally a mouth breather so I found myself removing it at 6:00 am and falling back to sleep more comfortably. Maybe that was when she heard me. Also, my top teeth were a little sore after I removed it and I would hate to think it was moving my bite. When I woke up during the night, I did feel like I was choking on it a little, but it is comfortable enough to fall asleep while wearing it. Wish I didn’t have to, but if you are occasionally sleeping with someone not bound to you by a marriage contract, it is worth having.

I had tried all the other products, nasal strips, mouth tapes, these failed! This product has worked so far. I have occasional snoring, but nothing like I had before. The mouth piece can come out of my mouth at night, so I just put it back in. It is very comfortable. It seems expensive, but you don’t have to keep buying boxes of nasal strips that don’t work. Once you put it in your mouth you go to sleep. No talking. So far, it has helped my husband and I sleep at night. He has had no complaints of my snoring. I was evaluated for sleep apnea and I do not have. I am a very thin person who has loud snoring so this has really helped.

We’ve been using this for years now. Before this I was ready for separate bedrooms / even a split up because the snoring was just too much to handle. We tried a few other products before this one and this one is amazing. It doesn’t work 100% but it sure does work almost all the time. Just every now and than he still snores through it. It holds the tongue so it doesn’t close up the breathing in the back of the throat causing snoring. His complaint using it is that it’s uncomfortable having something hood his tongue forward through the night. I noticed too that sometimes if he lays on his back that he breathes a bit heavier and almost tries to blow the mouthpiece off, so the few times it doesn’t work, he, in his sleep, is trying to blow or push the mouthpiece off. Other than his not enjoying how it feels while he sleeps and the occasional not working 100%, it’s pretty much saved our marriage and our ability to sleep together.

I have only used this 2 nights and still getting used to it but I have slept better in the last 2 nights than I have for along time. I record my sleep and this device worked to eliminate almost all my snoring and I am getting more REM sleep too!

I have OSA and had to use a machine at night. The CPAP machine was not working properly. The company sent me another one and it did not work again. I was desperate to find a product. I checked on line and I purchased SnoreShield. I called to ask several questions and was very happy to get answers. This company offers a 30 days trial so there was nothing to lose. I tried it and will not return it. It is very comfortable and easy to put in. I do not get dry moth or eyes as with the CPAP. I can toss and turn without problems. I am sleeping all night and having dreams. I do not get sleepy while working as I did in the past. This means I am achieving a good night sleep. Thank you for designing this great product.

After my first night using the device my wife was ecstatic — no snoring at all… Been pretty much that way for the month or so I’ve been using it. A few nights there was some slight discomfort due to one place on my lower right gums being sore. This went away over time. Often when I wake up in the middle of night I find that my tongue is not “captured” by the forward part of the device — however, it still keeps me from snoring. Both my wife and I have been extremely pleased. I only gave it a 3 out of 5 for “value for money” because I read here that there are other similar devices which sell for a much lower price.

As an anti snoring device, this is the best that I’ve tried.. I have used this device successfully for over 3 years. No anti snoringdevice is comfortable immediately, but I was sleeping comfortably in about 4 days. Once you get the tongue suction degree down pat, you can control any drooling as well. The SnoreShield is soft, pliable, more discreet in its appearance and reasonably priced for what you get……….a peaceful night’s sleep. It also travels well. I even keep an extra in my purse in case of an unexpected over night somewhere.I definitely recommend this product.

I like that it helps me sleep so much better. I don’t like that I’m still not used to waking up with a swollen tongue every morning, so I have to take a break from it every once in a while

After doing a sleep study and eliminating other issues, I was told that my snoring was likely due to my tongue falling back in my mouth during sleep. This product was given to me by my brother a few years ago because he had similar snoring issues. My wife said that it immediately helped her sleep better due to my snoring mostly stopping. In addition, I find that it eliminates “dry mouth” for me so I use it often times when my wife is gone. The only reason for the 4 stars vs. 5 stars is the expensive pricing model for a piece of silicon.

I have had trouble with cpap and dental devices for my insomnia/apnea issues so now I am trying tongue stabilizers as my tongue closes off my breathing passageway when I am asleep. This device is far more comfortable and I can get to sleep with this one as opposed to the $6-7 tongue stabilizer. I wish the tongue space was slightly larger as my tongue usually comes out sometime while I am asleep. I bought the young adult one since I have a small mouth but my only complaint is that my tongue doesnt stay in it all night. It is overpriced for what it is and I’m not sure how long one will last as I have only had mine a month.Update: I am now on my 5th one–they last about 1 year. Had problem with the last one–it felt stiffer. I contacted the company which has excellent support–and they are sending me a new one in each of the two sizes to see which works better for me. This product still outperforms cpap and the expensive dental devices–for ME. It took only about a week to get used to it without feeling anxious or panicky with something in my mouth! I don’t know why it is so expensive but at this point it is my cheapest option as my tongue tends to slide back and cover my throat at night causing apnea events.

It took me a couple of nights to get used to it, but man does it work! My wife hasn’t woke me up for snoring since. this thing is Awesome! Five Stars.

I’m writing this review to confirm this product works well for me. The instructions explained the time it takes to get used to it, and it did take a while. This keeps my tongue from relaxing down my throat. I use both this device and nasal strips because my nasal passages are too small as well. Yes, my tongue was sore for a while, and I had even bitten my tongue hard a few times (I grind my teeth, so this device has also helped with that issue). I used it as long as I could until it finally lost its strength to hold its shape, and my tongue started slipping out-but that was after two years of use. It seems so expensive for such a small product, but frankly I was charged 600 bucks for this weird piece of hard plastic that was small enough for me to swallow that the dentist made for me so I wouldn’t grind my teeth at night. I was always a little afraid I might choke on it. So as far as all these devices go and let’s be real, none of them are cute: it works well for me, and if I don’t use the SnoreShield, and the breathing strips, I literally dream about not being able to breathe, and I end up with bad headaches in the morning from lack of oxygen. It’s worth the cost.
